BMI calculator




This little utility is for those who wishes to know their BMI values.
For most* of us, BMI(or the Quetelet Index) is a great way of determining weather one is overweight or underweight.

Imperial calculation



Weight(pounds) : Height(ft/in) :    =    BMI :


After calculating BMI, my category is:



Starvation- less than 15
Anorexic- less than 17.5
Underweight- less than 18.5
Ideal- between 18.5 and 24.5
Overweight - between 25 and 30
Obese- between 30 and 40
Morbidly Obese- greater than or equal to 40

These values are according to the wikipedia article on the subject.
Also, if you fall into the last two categories, and if you haven't already, please consult your doctor for help.
It is not in any way OK or good to belong to those categories. If anything, it is really dangerous.


* Sure, if a body builder came here, his BMI would be quite misleading..
Chances are, however, that since you're on this page, you are like the rest of us...
Oh, and by that i mean *not* a body builder :-)
