GL/DCC/GI calculator and database

"The glycemic index ranks foods on how they affect our blood glucose levels" - www.mendosa.com on GI.

For diabetics, this is very important information, since they want to be able to control these levels as much as possible. However, it can be quite useful for many others also. Especially for those who wishes to lose weight, since diets like atkins, south beach and other low carb diets base their menus on it. Below, you can access a database with calculated measures for over 700 foods from all over the world.

The author of this site takes NO responsibility for the correctness of the data presented on this page.
Users should be aware, that even though most of the data probably is correct, the site is just created, and it have thus not withstood the test of time and user-scrutiny.
Also, there were significant amounts of manual labour involved in organising the data, which might have induced errors. The data(the GI database) was gathered (with permission) from the excellent site www.mendosa.com, which like www.glycemicindex.com is a great source of information on the subject of the glycemic index(GI) and the glycemic load(GL).
However, while the practice of calculating GI for foods may be carried out with utmost precision and yielding reliable and correct results, the individual response is far more uncertain. Always proceed with caution.
